Application Process

1. A. Complete application form: Fill out and submit the Accra Artisans Exchange application form.

B. Pay application fee: The US$50 application fee is payable by check. Should you complete the registration process,
this fee will go towards your program cost and you will be responsible for paying the remaining US$1200. If you do not
complete the registration process, we will keep the application fee. The application fee is meant to encourage serious
applicants only. We are happy to correspond with you and answer any questions prior to your application.
C. Consult the Accra Artisans Exchange trip preparation checklist. This checklist outlines in detail the steps
     you will take in preparation for your trip such as obtaining the required visa and the yellow fever vaccination,
     optional medical precautions, what to bring (and not bring) with you, etc.

2. Application confirmation: Once we have received your completed application form and the application fee we will
review your placement and, barring any problems, send you an acceptance letter confirming your dates and any other
requests/preferences.

3. Pay remaining program fee: When you have received your application confirmation, you will be responsible for
paying the remaining program cost of US$1200, also payable by check. During this time we will also ask you to reconfirm
your intended arrival date* and allow you to make any changes to your original application. We will also request that you
send us your flight information.

4. Program confirmation: Once we have received the remainder of the program fee and your complete flight details, we
will send you your finalized program confirmation.

5. Pre-departure check: When you have completed (at least) the required measures on the AAE Checklist, you will be
ready to go! We will contact you one week prior to you departure to make sure everything is set.

If this will be your first trip to Ghana, we advise that you allow at least two months between the time you apply
and your intended arrival date. However, if this is not possible, please contact us and we can assess whether
you can make the necessary preparations within the time you have.

*If you do need to make any changes to your dates after submitting your application form, we will do our best to
accommodate you.
